Dan is a co-founder and partner of Ravan Group. He partners with entrepreneurs, CEOs, investors and individuals to elevate and grow their brand with real estate development.
Dan unknowingly started his property development career when he began working in the trades to fund his college education. While earning his bachelor’s degree in finance from Seattle University’s evening program, he worked his way from general laborer to site superintendent in the field. During his senior year he was recruited by Sierra Construction to join the leadership team for the development of the BF Goodrich Aerospace $81M wide body aircraft facility. Following the successful completion of the project, Dan created and led a Tenant Improvement Division, successfully meeting and exceeding all growth and revenue goals throughout the duration of his leadership.
Building from those learnings, Dan branched out on his first entrepreneur endeavor co-founding Apex Steel, Inc., a union iron-working company. He successfully led company operations to consecutive years of high double-digit growth despite a market filled with decades- established competitors.
Dan sold his interest to his business partner and initiated a 15-year passion for retail store development, leading, building and serving teams dedicated to creating great guest experiences. His work represents two of the most prolific, high growth, quality retail brands of their time: Starbucks Coffee Company and lululemon athletica, where he led efforts for the successful completion of over 1,000 retail store projects throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
Jonathan Rader, AIA NCARB
Jonathan is an exceptional, one-of-a-kind leader in design. As a co-founder, partner and the creative source of Ravan Group, Jonathan has more than 30 years of architectural, design and project management experience. He has a gift to develop outstanding concepts independently and excels at collaborating and elevating others’ visions and concepts.
Paramount to Jonathan’s success is his holistic approach to great design, from ideation through execution, and lifecycle sustainment thereafter. His creative strength is well served by his hands-on construction experience in the field. He works the details and demands accurate, clear drawings for permitting and construction. Jonathan respects the trades and artisan partners and works together without ego or compromise for successful, high-quality buildouts.
Jonathan has an entrepreneurial spirit. His experience starting his own businesses and working with start-ups informs his understanding of brand resource demands and the critical import to achieve results. Prior to founding RaVan Group, he had his own firm for several years, specializing in restaurant and retail, along with corporate interiors and historical restoration / building conversions. He has a track record of happy clients and exceptional projects.
From 2010 to 2014, as director of store design, development and facilities for MOD Pizza, Jonathan designed and built the entire brand dress for the portfolio launch. Jonathan executed scalable concepts and developed design strategies to enhance the brand and customer experience, including the store music. This can still be seen (and heard) in MOD buildouts today.
Jonathan embraces a challenge and has a comfort zone that extends beyond “out-of-the-box” thinking. As a key member of the Starbuck’s Green Retail Group (a think tank for new green design strategies), Jonathan and his team designed and built the prototype ‘green’ Starbucks in just 7 weeks. He was on-site many of the days during the buildout, personally handling day-to-day design and construction questions. In addition to architectural design, in 2004 through 2006, he worked as a development architect for two large land developments in Los Barriles and Puerto Penasco, BCS, Mexico.
